How to Connect Gemini to Your Sim Racing Telemetry (Free)

New to sim racing and not sure where your time goes? Gemini is a good place to start. It works with the Flowix connector on Google's free plan, so you get a coach that knows your laps without paying for an AI subscription. You learn by asking about your own driving, one simple question at a time.

You'll need

• A free Flowix account with laps recorded by the Flowix agent.
• A Google account to sign in to Gemini.
• A desktop browser for the setup.

Copy the link to your laps

Sign in to Flowix, open the AI page and press Copy URL. The page shows a masked version for safety, so copy it with the button.

Whoever has this link can read your telemetry. Don't share it, and press Regenerate on the AI page if it ever slips out.

Connect it to Gemini

1. Open gemini.google.com and open the menu.
2. Go to Connected apps (in some versions it sits under Settings → Apps).
3. Choose to add a custom MCP server.
4. Name it Flowix and paste your link. No extra login is needed because the key is part of the link.
5. Save.

Google often renames and moves menu items. If you can't find Connected apps, look for Apps, Extensions or Tools in Gemini's settings.

Detailed telemetry questions are fastest for one or two laps. If you ask Gemini to compare every lap you've ever driven, it will be slow. Questions about lap times over many sessions are quick.

Making Gemini more helpful

• Start with "Using Flowix" in a new chat so Gemini knows where to look.
• One topic per message. "Just my braking" gets a clearer answer than "tell me everything".
• Ask for an example. If an explanation feels abstract, follow up with "Show me where that happens on my lap."
